Jones, 51, finished first out of 110 contestants in the 50-54 age division. He finished the race in 2:02.51. The Olympic distance consisted of a 1.5-kilometer (0.93 mile) swim, a 40K (24.8-mile) bike ride and a 10K (6.2-mile) run.
Jones came in 49th overall in a field of 1,649 finishers. Earlier this summer, Jones won his age group and finished fourth overall in the Pat Griskus Sprint Triathlon. He also finished first in the Eagleman Ironman 70 triathlon in Maryland earlier this year. Jones, a former professional triathlete, took second in last year's ITP Triathlon in Darien.
Nicholas Sykes, 20, also of New Canaan, competed in Saturday's race and finished 604th overall and 79th in his age group. He finished the race in 2:21.34. Complete results are available online .
