New Canaan U12 Girls Win Bethel Soccer Tourney

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – The New Canaan Red under-12 girls soccer team won four games to capture the Bethel Soccer Association’s Columbus Day tournament.

New Canaan beat a field that included teams from Westport, Greenwich, Trumbull, Bethel, Weston and Monroe. New Canaan outscored opponents 11-1.

Goals were scored by Sarah Spadaccini (two), India Otero, Ryann Mushkin, Olivia Cosco (three), Libby Tedford, Jessica Eccleston, and Lauren Bisceglia (two). 

New Canaan had several strong performances in goal from Tedford, Kendall Patten, Katelyn Sparks and Bridget Salmini. Players who collected assists included Lauren Sampson, Patten, Claire Ross and Jessica Dolby. Impressive defensive and overall performances were also noted by Joelle Anselmo, Katherine Marcus,  Lucy Coutts and Whitney Bryant.

New Canaan’s next game is on Sunday against the Bridgeport All Starz at Saxe Middle School in New Canaan.
