New Canaan Y Swimmers Competing at Olympic Trials

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — Two swimmers from the New Canaan YMCA Caimans swim team are competing this week at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, Neb..

KC Moss, who graduated from Wilton High School this month and will be attending Stanford University in the fall, will be competing in the 100-meter and 200-meter breaststroke event. Moss has been a member of the U.S. Junior National team the last two years and was named Connecticut Swimmer of the Year earlier this year.

Costas Hadjipateras, who will be competing in the 200-meter butterfly event, recently graduated from Colgate University. He also is a New Canaan High School graduate, where he also was a high school record holder. Hadjipateras also has dual citizenship and is ranked in the top 10 in Greece in the 200-meter butterfly.

Hadjipateras will compete Wednesday, while Moss will compete in the 100 breast Tuesday and the 200 breast Friday.
