New Canaan's Cole Helps Rowing Team Reach Semis At Olympics

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Just about an hour after fellow New Canaan resident Andrew Campbell moved to the semifinals at the Olympics, Charlie Cole and his teammates on the Men’s Four also took the next step.

Cole and his U.S. teammates took third in their heat, but still advanced to the semis. The top three crews in each heat moved directly to the semifinals.

The U.S. finished with the seventh fastest time of the nine teams that went directly to the semifinals. Cole’s teammates on the are Seth Weil, Henrik Rummel and Matt Miller. Australia had the fastest time among the teams that reached the semifinals.

Cole was a member of the U.S. team in the Men's Four that won bronze at the 2012 Olympics.
