FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – A new season kicks off Saturday for the Fairfield County Football League with games scheduled in five communities. The league also welcomes a new member, Weston, raising the number of league towns to eight.

Games take place Saturday in Darien, New Canaan, Ridgefield, Westport and Wilton. Games will also be played on Sunday. The league's other communities are Norwalk and Fairfield.

Wilton’s program finished with a flourish last fall, winning championships in the third-, fourth- and fifth-grade levels. Darien won the seventh-and eighth-grade divisions, while Fairfield won the sixth-grade division.

Weston kids previously played for the Aspetuck Wildcats with boys from Easton and Redding. Most of the Weston kids who played with the Aspetuck Valley program have moved to the new Weston team in the county league.

The complete schedule is available on the Fairfield County Football League website.
