Poll: What Do You Think Of Olympic Tape Delay?

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – One of the most talked about aspects of the 2012 London Olympics has had nothing to with the athletes or the results.

NBC's handling of the five-hour time difference with London and the choice to show major events on a tape delay hours after much of the world already knows the outcome thanks to the Internet has caused an uproar among many fans.

Twitter users have been especially vocal in their complaints of NBC, using the social media outlet to lash out against the network.

Guy Adams, a Los Angeles-based journalist for the Independent, a British newspaper, had his Twitter account briefly disabled after a series of increasingly critical remarks directed at NBC president Gary Zenkel. Adams' account was re-activated after a brief time.

A slew of Twitter hashtags and handles have ridiculed NBC's coverage throughout the games. #NBCFail has trended nationally at some point every day of the Olympics. The account @NBCDelayed has gained nearly 30,000 followers in the three days since it was created thanks to some humorous pokes at the now-infamous tape delays.
