Tennis players Angelo and Ettore Rossetti shared their Guinness World Record experience with Saxe Middle School during a recent visit to the school. The players showed a nine-minute documentary about breaking the mark for the longest tennis rally, which they achieved on Aug. 9, 2008.
The movie was followed by a GOALS Setting presentation where the kids learned that capturing your dreams is as easy as "Grand", "Optimistic", "Achievable", "Long Term", and "Short Term." The players encouraged students to build "dream boards" with photos and clippings of role models and inspirational photos and articles. Some responses were unique, such as being "a professional diver", "a wide receiver in the NFL" and "being as successful as an older brother."
The Rossettis are still shooting for another goal: to match their world record of 25,944 strokes while raising that number in dollars for charity. To continue on their quest for this goal they are holding their 4th Annual Rally4Charity event at the Pilot Pen International Tennis Tournament on Friday, Aug. 20 as part of the United States Professional Tennis Teaching Association's summer conference.
