Hi again NCIndependent. If all states had open primaries I think it would be a good start in making candidates deal with more than just 'their voters' and would make for much better choices for voters. So, I'm all for it, great idea! View Comment
NCIndependent, your response was gratifying.
For the record, most of my voting life I was an 'Independent,' until a bunch of Republican hypocrites impeached Bill Clinton, when many of them were also having affairs. Newt Gingrich and the man that was going to be speaker, Bob Livingston, that had to step away are just two off the top of my head.
That's when I became a card carrying Democrat ;))
Its important to be able to vote in the primaries, that's when the choices are made for the ultimate slate.
Depending on where you live, you might reconsider & become affiliated?
Once again, a pleasure to share dialog. View Comment
I have never been asked for ID. Besides, they can see the signature is similar year after year. If folks are forced to show birth certificate, some are old & were born at home. To make folks get a special ID would cost money, liken a poll tax.
'Disenfranchisement' is real. It turns out disenfranchising people is unconstitutional:
The law would have made it impossible for hundreds of thousands—some say 750,000—of people to vote, most of them likely to vote Democratic. Not even government-issued welfare cards and military identification cards were acceptable. Plenty of older Philadelphians, many of them black, do not even have a birth certificate.
On January 17th a Commonwealth state judge agreed. “Disenfranchising voters through no fault of the voter himself is plainly unconstitutional,” wrote Judge Bernard McGinley (in reference to the state constitution, not the US constitution). Not only was the law was “fraught with illegalities and dubious authority”, but also Mr McGinley found that the state's $5m campaign to explain the law to voters was full of inaccuracies. The ruling comes after 18 months of litigation.
Don't forget Nancy & Harry ;))
You've gotta admit, Nancy was able to get bills passed & have a functioning congress. On the other hand, Boehner, breaking records for the most obstructionist do-nothing congress in history... Pathetic. View Comment
Francis T; "Those people that wanted to cling to their guns and religion? Yeah those nuts as you liberals call them. They are the majority of Americans in our country. "
Obviously that is a FALSE statement, since Obama was elected TWICE! View Comment
As a thinking woman, I'm for Justin Wagner! He supports a woman’s right to choose and equal pay, unlike Murphy....
Murphy wants women to be powerless over our bodies & make less for our labors. View Comment
I want an investigation to see if Cuomo & Christie have been using the Port Authority as their piggy bank.
That said, I'm voting for Cuomo since Eric Schneiderman is still running for AG.
Hope he runs next time. View Comment

Francis T, the house voted 45+ times to repeal the Affordable Care Act, wasting taxpayers money. They voted to sue the president for giving employers an extra year to comply with the ACA, even though they wanted that.
They OBSTRUCT anything, even if its something they wanted, once Obama agrees...
We need more Moderate Republicans & NO Tea partiers!
No Nan.... View Comment
Since Tea Party critters entered the congress, its been the most UNproductive on record!
Nan is a Tea Party candidate, We the People don't need her!
We need politicians willing to COMPROMISE & WORK for the PEOPLE!
If all you want to do is OBSTRUCT, STAY HOME! View Comment
