It's very hard to un-ring this kind of bell. The "facts" for your earlier headline should have been checked. There often seems to be a rush to get "the news" out...why? It's only helpful if it's accurate. The NPS has yet to announce a closing. Further, the "corrected" article still states that BMHS will open as an "emergency shelter". How could it possibly do that (if school was in session)? I can only guess there will be students who miss school due to this article, and that there will be residents who go to the school looking for help, even when school is in session. View Comment
If she has been found...earlier today...WHAT could be the purpose of posting the photograph of very troubled individual involved in a very private situation? For Pete's sake, give the lady some dignity. It seems to me the good news could have been shared without posting the image. View Comment
I was too old to join active duty military, but yes the attacks did influence my decision to join the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, in July of 2002. It has been my honor to serve as a public affairs officer for the Coast Guard, which is one of the lead agencies of the Department of Homeland Security. View Comment
Well said "Jaconnnor". If he didn't use the time before leaving office, wouldn't that mean Norwalk writes a check for the cash value of the time when Mr. Garfunkel concludes this portion of his service to Norwalk? If that's the case, as a city resident, I would elect the way he has chosen to use the time. I respect both candidates, so I struggle when I wonder what the issue is...and why the need for what seems to be shaping up to a smear campaign. View Comment
William A. and Fanny Lockwood sold the property (on which rests the chapel) to the Brookide Chapel Association, for ONE DOLLAR, on May 15, 1872, with what appears to be a stipulation in the deed that within six months a chapel be built.
I just so happened that I had this research on hand as part of the Norwalk Community College Archaeology program.
How does someone get in touch with the Brookside Chapel Association today? View Comment
