I wonder if the people overreacting to this have any clue about how dependent many of those local economies are on trophy hunting. Or how much money trophy hunting raises to find conservation and anti poaching efforts. We should mind our own business. It's easy to stand on a soapbox but the truth is few really understand the big picture. No trophy hunting, no anti poaching funds, no game in a few years. Kinda like what we did here. We killed everything in many places and only see chosen animals today because of regulated hunting.
The tazer is much better than the billy club it replaced. You guys are out of control. The problem is NEVER the idiot causing trouble but always the guys enforcing the law.
What this blog NEEDS is a real name requirement and real moderation. View Comment
Decreasing the units and housing projects in general is the BEST answer. Stealing liberty from everyone so that we can safely tolerate these animals in our cities is ridiculous and obviously ineffective. A safer city is one with very few or zero housing projects. A place where everyone can feed and house themselves is a successful place, one that requires hundreds of municipal housing units and grants to fund them is an abject failure. View Comment
If you were moving us in the right direction you wouldn't need to campaign at all. Your record should speak for itself. Not saying you are a bad mayor, this is true of all incumbents, the people know you and spending money on a campaign is a sign that the incumbent doesn't think they're performance is adequate to be re elected.
Another reason to promote carrying a gun and pass laws forbidding prosecuting a victim for using it to protect himself. You probably can't get a gun, probably don't know the first step. This sort of crime is the end result of Bob Duff and the Democrats chasing out taxpayers and replacing them with welfare class lowlife municipal housing leaches. View Comment
Personally Id be very skeptical of anyone changing jobs so much. Norwalk has nothing GOOD in common with New Haven or Cincinatti. We need to STOP trying to be a big city and start acting like a community. If you don't live here we don't need you to work here, period. View Comment
Anybody is more qualified than the current joke. I don't much like Trump, but at least he hasn't made a living off the taxpayer. He understands money and creates REAL private sector jobs every day. Something Obama doesn't have a clue about.
You can't blame the police, thats about as stupid as it gets. And if hundreds were involved many more would be hurt. You clowns with a vendetta against the PD are a pathetic bunch at best. Of course they will be outnumbered if theres hundreds of people, grow up or shut up. The issue is that the city uses the beach to make money. We need to discourage non residents instead of marketing it towards them. Raise the non resident fee to $50 bucks. Keep people who don't live here out, let them go to Sherwood Island instead of a neighborhood park.
His greatest accomplishment? Raising racial tensions to a new high or making us look like weak kneed children in the eyes of the world, you pick. Anybody living in CT supporting Democrats needs their heads examined.
The educated people of CT? You mean the ignorant fools that continuously elect the people who have ruined us year after year, decade after decade for some 50 years? lol ok The mans a looser period. View Comment
Why not explain that Norwalk gives the state much much more than it gets back. We overpay and you guys redistribute funds in a way that is very disadvantageous to our City. So while we appreciate your grant efforts isn't it counterproductive and wasteful to tax us, redistribute in a manner that leaves us short on cash and then go through this grant process so we can provide basic services? How much of the money gets eAten up in salaries along the way? It's nice that you get to have everyone see your smiling face but how many know the truth?
You mention Norwalk housing getting grants as well. Which would again be great if the question of WHY we constantly need more units and how it benefits the city were answered. Obviously if the various social programs we also pay for to help the inner city poor were working we would see vacancies as people move up and out of the projects. Instead we see you smiling about getting money for more of them. Who will live there? Are they for Norwalks needy or are we going to market them to the public at large and bring more people who can't afford to live in the climate you created to Norwalk? These are things you should address here and on other social media. We all know you show up for photo ops and talk to children at school. But what we need is for you to do your job and put the Taxpayer first. The way your gang has taxed us nobody should need a grant for anything. Our state rakes in more than 48 of the remaining 49 states per taxpayer, why are we broke? Why are you smiling when you are a part of a state legislature that's going broke and can't pay it's bills? A long time member of the general assembly that has gotten many things passed. Shouldn't you be sad by the poor performance of your party in our state?
These are things we need to know to make a decision on your performance. Not how much you milked Hartford for, that replaces what you took and doesn't reflect well on you to thinking people at all. We shouldn't need grants and wouldn't with responsible leadership in Zhartford. View Comment
Ironic that people responsible for the sad state of affairs regarding the needy in Norwalk and CT are proud that they can hold a party to help them. We wouldn't need so many assistance organizations if our elected officials and their buerocrats actually acted responsibly and reigned in spending. How much did all those new Ford Explorers for the PD cost? ALOT more than 12 grand. How about the fire boat we don't even have dockage for? Responsible spending would go much further than publicity stunts to help Norwalkers. View Comment
