What I see are two people who despite the grandstanding have worked only to increase taxes & make CT less friendly of a place to WORK, raise a family & stay into your old age. Its ironic because Im sure revitalization & venues such as they are talking about would be much more common and much more successful in a place not so thoroughly burdened with high taxes. These people run the show, yet they ignore the reality that the ONLY reason they need to be involved in this, is because THEY created a state of affairs where both people & businesses NEED help to prosper. If these Democrats went away we might just be able to prosper without help from Hartford. Who's help can ply come in the form of money they took from us in the first place. View Comment
Hmmm. Why do these people keep acting like gun violence is an issue? Its been going down for years and while these clown might like to think otherwise its largely due to the trend in curbing overbearing gun control. We hear about our new law, Malloy actually attributed lower crime to it even though its less than a year old, but we don't hear about the many laws curbing restrictions. This publication nor any other looks into the fact that we went from less than 40 states with provisions to carry in public to 50 in recent years. Nor do we hear about how states like AZ, AK & WY did away with a need for any permit, with no rise in crime. They ignore VT which NEVER had ANY gun control, none, yet never had a crime problem.
These clowns don't do much besides prance around ignoring the state of the country in regard to things they should be doing and pushing the progressive caged which has already killed the state they pretend to represent.
A vote for Gail is a vote AGAINST civil rights. Lets get rid of the dead weight in Hartford that blames good people for crime.
The Metro North issue is simple. They need to do a study to determine a sustainable fare schedule with a profit margin so they don't need to milk ALL the taxpayers so a few can commute. If it can't turn a profit it might just be because we are talking about an 18th century mode of transportation.
Yeah sure, Republicans are in power in Washington right? Oh no, thats right, Obozo has been President now going on 6 years. Look in the mirror, people who support liberals are the real problem.
But regardless, nobody with even half a brain can blame CTs issues on anyone but the party in charge for a generation, DEMOCRATS. The biggest problem with Republicans is they act just like Democrats for the most part. We need a conservative movement to gain a foothold outside the GOP and its coming to a theater near you. You don't need a big fancy report to KNOW that this can only drive prices up to make up the difference and still turn a profit OR result in cutting jobs. If you question this you just don't have much common sense or understand finances at all. View Comment
They have nothing to be upset about. As bad as Metro North has been doing this last year its nothing compared to how bad these people have been running our state the past 20 years or so.
They should just cut Metro North loose & let it do what it needs to become profitable & self sustaining or go belly up. In the end all these Democrat clowns can do is drive it into the ground anyway, its what they do, take good well thought out sustainable things & kill them.
Are we going to do anything about Common core or are we going to just sit and watch it ruin our kids education? I like much of what I see so far from Mayor Rilling, but am disappointed to hear how important race and ethnicity seem to be in his appointments. That should be irrelevant, the best people should be chosen regardless of race. Part of what holds us back is trying to be racially diverse, even if it means putting a less qualified person in a position. I'd also be interested in hearing about efforts to ease the tax burden in Norwalk. Some homes will see tax increases of over $1000, at a time when home values are still a fraction of what they were a short while ago and many of us are still struggling. In my view if we cannot cut, or at least keep property taxes the same, no new expenditures should be made, no new positions created and this years budget should not exceed last years by even one dollar. How many tax payers haven't seen a raise since 08? A bunch I'd wager and many of us are still making less than in 08. A reality often lost on people who make a career in public service where raises are guaranteed and the financial reality of the public world doesn't come into play.
If these guys could focus on easing the tax burden they wouldn't need to bully people into overpaying for jobs kids used to do. Its more a Democrat issue than Republican We don't want to raise it no, but its only needed because liberal policy drives the cost of living through the roof here.
Saying this will increase jobs is ridiculous, it can't. What it will do is drive up costs of everything minimum wage workers do, or cause jobs to be cut. Anybody not happy with minimum wage should go stand on the bridge off MLK Blvd, those gentlemen START at $12/hr and many find full time jobs, and they don't even belong here. View Comment
Thing is Danny BOY, we do NOT live in a Democracy, we live in a Republic.
We elected to NOT be a Democracy to avoid mob rule, a thing which bothers you & the Democrats as they try year after year to eliminate our rights & liberties protected against YOU by the Constitutions put in place because the guys who started this country knew immoral unethical power hungry perverts like you would use your power to dismantle this great country.
Besides the FACT that its a very very rare thing for the winner of the election not to have won the popular vote too.
The reason for this Republic not being a Democracy is so that the majority CANNOT ignore the rights of the minority. There are limits to what you can do & you don't like that. So Move. View Comment
This guys hilarious, he can't do his own job so keeps busy with things he's not needed for. The real issue is that Connecticut’s working families, immigrant communities and senior citizens appear to be the targets of overzealous democrat taxation and horrific spending habits. This gentleman & his cohorts rob us blind day in & day out without batting an eye. They have killed the profitability of CT and turned us into a money pit with little hope of recovery short of drastic overhaul to almost every facet of how our state & country are run.
Exactly, what does any of this do to further my kids education? This is the future of progressive America. We need to get away from this. If our highly paid BOE officials cannot do what we pay them for and run our system themselves then why do we need them? View Comment
Nope, but he did not have to show ID when asked. In this case it worked out well but people in general should make more of an effort to know their rights. They CANNOT just stop & ID you in CT. They can ask but you do not need to comply.
