@ lastcardjb: SERIOUSLY??? The child did??? The child is 2 freaking years old. The child knows better than to put itself in harms way?????? The mother is WRONG!!! The MOTHER is responsible for the CHILD's welfare. The neighbor was right in contacting police. What if someone had the mother tied up in the house and the child got away? What? the neighbor should then put her own self in harms way just to bring the child back to a potential harmful or better yet, deadly situation???
The mother is WRONG!! I feel bad for her also... she had something to do.. I get that. We have all been there... but the police nor the neighbor are in the wrong. The MOTHER is!!!!!!
And NOTHING.. no matter what the situation... NOTHING is so important to leave like that. Nothing couldn't have waited until the child awoke or the father returned home. PERIOD!!!!! View Comment
@Latiya I'm not saying it's OK for ANYTHING to happen like this. You are correct in saying "Parents are their kids first teacher" Obviously, most parents unfortunately, these days SUCK and don't care about their children which is why things like this happen. When I was a child, I was afraid of embarrassing or disrespecting my parents to do outrageous things like the kids today. My parents raised me PROPER with RESPECT and MORALS!!! I never thought of even hurting someone else, let alone killing them!!! Kids today have NO MORALS nor RESPECT and it's their parents fault!! This is where my comment about staying in your own place and killing each other comes. Why come by our homes, who teach the children right from wrong? Stay in your own surroundings/place. Because unfortunate again.. but these kids don't know any better so they will just continue teaching their kids the same. And so on and so on, further through the generations.
I watched that mother scream and cry watching them take her daughter out of the car. If that mother had taught her daughter RESPECT and MORALS... maybe her daughter would be alive today. WHY was her child sitting in a car on the corner in a neighborhood where she didn't belong? THREE TOWNS AWAY??? And maybe I shouldn't use the word "belong"... but NO ONE in the neighborhood claims to know either of them. So WHY were they here??
And I DO raise my children the SAME way I was raised and they are turning out just fine. They will be productive citizens - not drug dealing losers with guns.
So before you threaten people with your comment of "Sometimes within our OWN homes so be real careful of the things you to say." maybe YOU need to look at YOUR extended families! My children will be productive, social, successful members of society!!!!! View Comment
This happened not 50 yards from our front door. Funny how time flies. Lots of nasty play in our area that summer. Lots of shots fired. However, this past summer (2012) its been quiet again.
I too, think it was a drug deal gone bad. you never know who your neighbors actually are and what they do behind closed doors.
Those kids had no reason to be where they were in the first place, to be shot. Apparently no one in the neighborhood new them. They were just parked on the corner. Doing/buying/selling. Either way, they shouldn't have been there. No reason. Stay in your own neighborhoods. Kill each other - not thos eof us that work and try to bring our children up in pleasant neighborhoods that care about each other and our surroundings.
If they would have stayed in Bridgeport where they were from, they'd probably still be alive today. View Comment
