Murphy didn't talk to Duff about this?
1.6 million square feet and $200 million needed and we wait now to try and sell something so ignorant to our taxpayers?
This how these guys operate, you simply can't feel anything is clean anymore. View Comment
no wonder people were able to steal from the place admission is outrageous and yes the parking as well.Crime has always been a number one concern and most of the horrendous beatings stabbings and injury come from that area all the way to stepping stones.Norwalk wanted a park on a landfill they got it now what not patrol it hourly for these thousands of visitors the bike club is generating on top of the big draw the city has sold us? Not bad for a city that doesn't want a mall, and hasn't got a fire or police dept large enough to serve the entire city before the recent buiding started. What about the sewage treatment complex, all we here is it needs work.
Progress in Norwalk has been the new staircase on MLK serving how many residents for the price can we know see a large port for a bus stop as well?Making sure if we have trolleys they fit of course.
Be nice to see city work out these plans without the same people screwing the city upo for years.
Those kids who go to NCC by rail where is the bus from the Rowyaton station that in itself shows no planning.
Wait till the bridge starts in Norwalk drones will have an airport on Washinton st.
Bike lanes are for decent outgoing well planned communities who has worked hard to improve a coastal city while taking care of those who help build that city.Send Murphy packing his help is always too late and please give us the addy of GGP we need to explain to shareholders Norwalk doesn't need to host a shopping center where most won't or simply can't afford to shop. Thank you Bruce and The Daily for this article, seems others have now joined to add this to their media rolls. This was civil knowing a lot of us can't be when it comes to Duff ,his history is unfolding.I wrote in as a knee jerk reaction not taking the time to list mamy instances where the voters have lost.Maybe The Daily can produce voting stats on Bob Duff give us a look at what he is pushing and how is he making the quality of life less in Ct. Norwalk understands Duff is not working for any of us anymore he has become non existent and ignorant in what our voters need.Darien keeps ending him back to Hartford.so your getting what you deserve.Has anyone in Darien observed channel 12 coverage of Hartford? Its a joke Duff is fighting for casinos other States are fighting to get rid of them ,shopping malls are being built Norwalks is sitting idle.Thank Bob Duff for the ignorant way he is leading his party while Leading Darien and Norwalk down a dead end,
Thanks to Darien Norwalk has Duff for those who made this happen enjoy your nickel and dime grants feeding off the bottom is what you all deserve. View Comment
until the city cleans up its act having anything that will draw a crowd will be a tough sell.Crime has had a continued effect on crowds when Norwalk has an event.Parking has become a joke parking violations in Norwalk has now become a money maker instead of the venues it serves. Why go thru the hassle with a family when there is so much to offer.
Vets park needs to have work done to ensure a flawless event rains once and its a mud fest, adding beer in volume will only ad to the non family event.Want a beer fest have one without the kids. View Comment
Norwalk use to be a place where one would argue we were only 80,000 we get to 100,000 and a lot of things change from grants to expenses and matching funds can't wait till that scale is tipped then what.Odd how 10,000 people just showed up. View Comment
14 grand replaces what use to be a phone call where you could be ignored or double talked now no contact at all and it costs more.
Robo call still an active first response or has that been shelved also and replaced? View Comment
“In the state of Connecticut, there’s been over 270 heroin overdose deaths and that number has been going up every year,” said Dr. J. Craig Allen of Rushford Center, who works with patients as young as 13-years old who are addicted to heroin. “The number of deaths related to heroin and the other opioid medications like Oxycontin, Percocet, and so forth was over 500 last year in the state of Connecticut.”
Rowyaton kids are to have plenty of oxy a damm shame but it is Norwalk View Comment
Be nice if Jim took the time to listen to those who have in the past described safety concerns and daily operations that needed work.He comes off knowing what the problems are yet never took the time to listen to others.Crime is something Jim never took into consideration or the fact Amtrack and MTA are not the only ones using these tracks. After explaining communication among agencies were at best poor years ago nothing never changed. Its good Jim has expertise in some areas but those he is not familiar with have gone unchanged and ignored over the years.
The night this last accident occurred windshields on more than one locomotive in the same area were broken by unknown objects a fact that surfaced early. The safety of riders is another issue ignored by many from the platforms to the parking lots that seem to have increased over the years.
MTA police blotter published would eliminate a lot of smoking mirrors in place by politicians and ridership board members. Why it hasn't been done with all the power Jim enjoys is the question.
Not enough is done to and reported to ensure transparency something Ct is known for on any city or town level.
Qualified personnel means what on a MTA train? Maybe if this gets an answer others will realize there is work to do on this subject. The last accident in NY suggests there wasn't.The key to running anything right is checking basic facts something we never hear from officials or advocates.
There bar car seemed to get more press than security and safety why was that?
“This is great news for cities and towns like Norwalk and Darien,” said Duff. People stupid enough to vote for him will trust this proposal.
Bob this is great give more money to those who can't balance a check book and spend it on crap. Thanks for nothing Bob.
Sounds like the hospitals don't agree with Duff in other areas of financial relief, ought to be good in a couple of months when the rest of the State realizes what a loser this guy is. View Comment
Someone explain what happens in Norwalk to ANY ORGANIZATION THAT DOESN'T FIT the city plan right before they took the pictures?
They call themselves leaders where is the leadership?
Blind leading the blind.
New game where is Andy should be built around this article, runs for Mayor then POOF gone. View Comment
The State has found itself in worse shape with Duff at the helm.Darien votes him is each time ,it isn't rocket science his numbers are wrong.Maybe this time the entire State will reject Duffs antics the voters seem to be smarter as you leave Darien and look elsewhere.
voluntary revenue? Darien has white knuckles holding onto what isn't theres anyways not a plan dressed as a trojan horse.
Duff is no hero just a politician thinking the rest of the State is as stupid as Fairfield county. View Comment
Norwalk never had gangs so this alert never made an impact on NPD.Rilling denied the problem now as mayor he probably wants it all to go away.Meanwhile guns drugs and assaults continue.NPD is bound to catch someone the odds are there. View Comment
Norwalk has race problems folks and Duff isn't one of our leaders if you haven't noticed.Wait till tolls are in place ,as it is Duff is under fire from his own in Norwalk.People were just told what Darien does to people who try and help minorities its been news for the last week.It was nice to see Duff could stand somewhere in his district and be received well.
Dump Duff will be the new body of voters in Norwalk, where they think and vote on their own. This was simply damage control and a bad move on Duffs part to bridge a canyon not a gap.
Wait till Norwalk voters get a hold of this! View Comment
considering what Bob Duff did to our transportation agenda when he had the chance this was not a milestone for Norwalk.Look back on what Bob did for the Brewhouse and many other things he had his hands on this is not what most of us need right now.
How does this help the average resident in Norwalk? Most are having trouble eating heating and paying for medical?
Bob tends to take the easy way out this just proves that. The city hurts now it takes no time in telling him all that by broadband. View Comment
