Risk Of Brush Fires High Today In Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Dry conditions and increasing southwesterly winds will combine to create conditions more conducive for the spread of fires on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Relative humidity is expected to decrease to 30 to 35 percent during the afternoon and evening, while wind gusts could increase to 20 to 25 mph. These conditions would likely aid fire spread if ignition occurs, the National Weather Service warns.

The weather on Thursday is expected to be sunny, with a high around 71. Thursday night will be clear, with a low near 48.

Fair weather and warm temperatures will last through at least Friday, which is expected to be sunny, with a high near 71. 

The weekend is predicted to be sunny, and even warmer. On Saturday the high will be near 77, and Sunday is expected to have a high near 75.
