The National Weather Service predicts that snow showers and localized snow squalls are expected to hit Friday evening, mainly between 5 and 7 p.m. Wind gusts will be up to 40 mph, with brief heavy snowfall, poor visibility, and accumulations of up to an inch.
The daytime will be partly sunny with a high near 35 and wind chill values between 15 and 25. After 7 p.m. it will be mostly cloudy, then gradually clearing, with a low around 14 and wind chill values between zero and 10.
Areas that experience heavier snow will also have the potential to experience flash flood freeze conditions, the NWS announced. Temperatures will rapidly drop below freezing behind the arctic frontal passage late in the day to early this evening.
Saturday will be partly sunny, then gradually become sunny. The high will be near 27, but wind chill values will be between zero and 10. It will be blustery, with a northwest wind between 9 and 14 mph, increasing to 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon. Wind gusts could be as high as 32 mph.
Saturday night will be clear, with a low around 7 and wind chill values between negative 5 and 5. The northwest wind will be between 10 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.
Sunday will be sunny, with a high near 31 and northwest winds between 8 and 10 mph. Sunday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 21.
