FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Fairfield County residents can expect several days of gloomy weather this week, with some showers and fog expected to start it off Monday.

There will be a 40 percent chance of showers on Monday, mainly after 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise the day will be cloudy, with a high near 67. Monday night will see a chance of showers before 11 p.m., then patchy drizzle with a chance of showers afterwards. There will be patchy fog after 11 p.m., otherwise it will be cloudy with a low around 52. The chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

That patchy drizzle will continue into Tuesday morning, with a chance of showers expected after 11 a.m. There will also be patchy fog on Tuesday morning. The overall chance of precipitation will be 40 percent on Tuesday. It will also be cloudy and cool throughout the day, with a high near 57.

Tuesday night will see a 40 percent chance of light rain. There will also be patchy fog and cloudy skies, with a low around 50.

There is a 30 percent chance of light rain on Wednesday, along with cloudy skies and a high near 60. Wednesday night will see a 30 percent chance of showers after midnight. Otherwise it will be cloudy, with a low around 49.

It will be mostly cloudy on Thursday, with a high near 65. Thursday night will also be mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.

There could finally be a break from the cloudy weather on Friday, which is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 72.
