Thunderstorms, Heavy Fog To Hit New Canaan

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Fairfield County residents will need an umbrella for most of the day Thursday as showers and thunderstorms are forecast to last throughout the evening.

The National Weather Service forecast predicts showers and thunderstorms will last until 2 a.m. There is also a dense fog advisory until 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Temperatures are forecast to reach the mid 60s, with winds picking up speed throughout the day. Wind gusts could reach 25 mph.

The system clears out on Thursday, but temperatures will fall back into the mid and high 30s. The National Weather Service also issued a wind advisory from 1-6 p.m. on Thursday, when wind speeds could gust as high as 44 mph. Temperatures will fall into the mid 20s on Thursday night.

On Friday, there's a 50 percent chance of light snow. Temperatures will reach the mid 30s under partly sunny skies. Temperatures nosedive on Friday night into the mid teens, and Saturday will also be cold, with temperatures forecast in the high 30s. Sunday will be sunny, with temperatures reaching the mid and upper 30s after a cold start to the day.
