Thunderstorms Loom As Heat, High Humidity Blankets New Canaan For Days

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The weather will be hot and humid for days to come in Fairfield County as storms roll in and high humidity remains, according to the National Weather Service.

On Thursday the high will hit 87 degrees with scattered showers expected and a possibility of heavy rainfall as the night comes with a low of 75 degrees. More of the same is expected Friday with an 88 degree high paired with high heat index and chances for heavy storms into the night low of 74 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

For the weekend, Saturday is likely to see heavy rain especially after 2 p.m. and a high of 93 degrees going into the night with a low of 75 degrees. Sunday will wrap up with more wet potential as the most likely day to see rain and a high of 88 degrees. Sunday nigh is likely to see yet more precipitation and a low of 71 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

All of this rain also features a hazardous weather warning with rain possible to cause flash flooding or torrential conditions. This follows a tornado touching down on Wednesday in nearby North Haven as reported in the Daily Voice.
