“I am a firm believer in internships and happy to be in a position to share my knowledge of the advertising industry with young adults as they determine a career path," said Brenda McKenna, BCM Media's founder and managing director.

Amy Murphy, who heads up NCC’s Business Engagement and Career Advancement effort, said, “Real world work opportunities, which connect our students directly with businesses in Fairfield County, are a win-win. Our students have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom and our local businesses realize the exceptional resources we have at NCC, particularly with our PTK Honor Society students. We can’t thank BCM Media enough for providing this opportunity. "

McKenna, who lives in New Canaan, will also be participating in New Canaan High School’s internship program this spring and plans to become a mentor for the Human Services Council's Norwalk Mentor program next fall.

BCM Media celebrates three years in business this month. “We’ve accomplished a lot in a short period of time," said McKenna.

The agency partnered with Matt Lukens, a Google-certified specialist with more than 15 years of experience and excellent performance ratings. Lukens works daily with both conversion-focused and brand-building campaigns, including search-and-display networks, remarketing and social media.

Lukens' expertise is helping BCM Media clients transition into different digital platforms and assessing analytics for the best return on investment.

Lukens said, “We believe in keeping our focus on performance, building solid relationships and meeting clients' goals.”

McKenna has been in the adverting field for more than 25 years, working with Fortune 500 companies at major agencies. She started BCM Media, when the firm she was with folded, and the clients asked if she would continue to work with them.

“The media landscape is vast and changing rapidly, and we recognize we can’t be expert in all areas, so what we’ve done is develop a preferred list of partners we collaborate with based on our clients' needs," McKenna said.
