“Pedro E. Guerrero: A Photographer’s Journey” begins at 3 p.m. on Aug. 30 at the New Canaan Historical Society, 13 Oenoke Ridge.

A New Canaan resident for more than 50 years, Guerrero made a name for himself in the 1960s, during an era immortalized in popular modern culture by the television show “Mad Men.” The photographer produced “studies of important modernist architecture, including that of many of the modernist houses in New Canaan,” said the New Canaan Historical Society in a statement.

He’s also well-known for his portrait work with Lloyd Wright, as well as with sculptors Alexander Calder and Louise Nevelson.

Admission is free, but the event requires reservations. To register or to find more information call (203) 966-1776 or go online to nchistory.org or the organization’s Facebook page.
