New Canaan Historical Society Takes On Mid-Century Architecture

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – The New Canaan Historical Society’s annual meeting will feature a presentation on "Modernism in New Canaan" with authors of the book “Midcentury Houses Today” on Monday, at 7:30 p.m. at the Town House, 13 Oenoke Ridge, New Canaan.

The annual meeting and election of Governors will start at 7 p.m., followed by the presentation with authors Jeffrey Matz, Lorenzo Ottaviani and Cristina A. Ross.

New Canaan is known internationally for its collection of mid-century houses including the Glass House and the Gores Pavilion that are open to the public. The authors have illustrated the evolution of the movement in their presentation of 16 mid-century homes and their history. 

Refreshments will follow the presentation.
