Barricelli, a third-generation baker and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, has run SoNo Baking Company & Café for the past 10 years. With locations in Darien, Westport and of course his flagship store in South Norwalk, he has served up bread, desserts and pastries to hungry Fairfield County foodies. Now Barricelli is working to ensure even the less fortunate can enjoy SoNo Baking’s award-winning treats.
"We are community-based, in the sense that we give back to every community organization in the area," said Barricelli. "Whether it's a church, synagogue, senior center or a school, we make an effort to give back to anybody that needs help."
In honor of Barricelli's philanthropic work, New Covenant Center, a soup kitchen providing over 700,000 meals a year to lower Fairfield County residents, will welcome him as a guest speaker at their annual Harvest Table. The event will be held at The Italian Center in Stamford from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m on Sunday, November 13th.
"I’ve volunteered at Covenant Center and the work they do is quite spectacular," said Barricelli. "I truly believe in the circle of life and giving back to those who need help, because you never know where you're going to end up in life."
