Dance the Night Away at New Canaan MS Party

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – New Canaan residents can enjoy drinks, dancing and singing Friday while supporting research to cure multiple sclerosis.

The fourth annual Cocktails and Crooning for a Cure event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at Waveny House in Waveny Park.

The event was established in 2009 by town employees Amy Lynn, Pam Lind and Cheryl Jones after the women participated in a Walk MS group. Hosting the event will be Robby Bridges from WEBE-FM 108.

Cocktails and Crooning will feature the music of Dean Martin, performed by Jack Lynn, and tunes by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and others sung by Angelo Ruggiero. The duo will also perform popular songs from 1950s and 1960s. Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a variety of desserts will be served. Highlights include live and silent auctions and more, including a trip to the 2012 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.

Lynn said events like Cocktails and Crooning help continue research for better treatment and hopefully a cure for MS. More than 6,000 Connecticut residents have MS.

Tickets are $65 per person. Proceeds go to the National MS Society Connecticut Chapter, and Travelers Walk MS.
