The church voted Rev. Dr. Derrick Fallon as its new pastor on July 17.

Fallon has served St. John's Lutheran Church, in Randolph, Neb., for the past 10 years -- but he was originally a member of the New England Synod. He and his wife Pam have two adult children, Colin and Ian.

Fallon graduated from the Lutheran Theology Seminary at Gettysburg with a master's of divinity in 2005, and he was ordained and called to serve St. John’s in 2006. He also received a doctorate of ministry in biblical preaching.

He is a staff writer for Augsburg Fortress and writes for the devotional publications "Christ in Our Home" and "The Word in Season." His writing has also been published in "Word and World: Theology for Christian Ministry," as well as "The Lutheran Digest."

The congregation welcomes the public to join in Fallon's first sermon, on Aug. 28. The church is located at 5 Oenoke Ridge, in New Canaan. The worship service begins at 9 a.m.

On Sept. 11, the worship service will return to its 10 a.m. time, followed by fellowship. For more information about the church, visit its website.
