What's Happening in New Canaan This Weekend

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – An author discussing her latest work, a kids’ fishing derby and a Lego event are among the events planned for this weekend in New Canaan.

Friday • Lisa Scottoline at New Canaan Library: Noon. Lisa Scottoline, author of "Come Home," will speak as part of the Authors on Stage in the Adrian Lamb Room. Scottoline has delivered taut thrillers with a powerful emotional wallop in her New York Times bestsellers "Save Me," "Think Twice" and "Look Again." Now, with her new novel, "Come Home," she ratchets up the suspense with the story of a mother who sacrifices her future for a child from her past.

Saturday • Annual George Cogswell Fishing Derby: Mill Pond, 9 to 11 a.m. Children 16 and younger can visit Mill Pond for the town’s annual fishing derby. More than 400 trout are in the pond. Prizes will be given in several categories. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

• New Canaan Library LOTTA LEGOS Event: St. Aloysius School, 10 a.m. LOTTA LEGOS is a special Lego-building contest. Enter your Lego creation for a chance to win cool prizes.
