Serious questions arose about Williams’ reporting of experiences related to the war in Iraq in February; this led NBC to suspend Williams for six months without pay.

Williams, who reportedly earns about $10 million per year, could be paid as much as $30 million to permanently leave his post at NBC, politico.com reported.
