Police Seek To ID Man Who Opened Fairfield County Resident's Garage Door At Midnight

A stranger opened the garage door of a Fairfield County resident at midnight Sunday, claiming he needed to charge his cell phone before fleeing and police are asking the public's help in identifying him.

The incident occurred on Barn Hill Road in Monroe, police said.

The resident confronted the man after he opened the garage door, and the man said he need to recharge his phone so he could call an Uber.

He fled the area prior to police arrival and was picked up by an unknown vehicle. 

Anyone who is able to identify the individual should call the Monroe Police Department at 203-261-3622.
