NEW CANAAN, Conn. A black bear has been spotted in New Canaan and town police are asking residents to take caution.
Capt. Leon Krolikowski issued a warning late Tuesday morning warning residents a small black bear was spotted in the area of Smith Ridge and Country Club roads. Krolikowski said the bear is moving through the area and warned residents not to approach the animal. He also advised residents to bring all of their domestic animals indoors.
Any resident who spots the bear should contact New Canaan Police at (203) 594-3500.
