Sandy Hook Families File Complaint Against NRA

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Families of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre filed an elections complaint Wednesday against the National Rifle Association, charging the group with illegally using money from its  political action committee to oppose Gov. Dannel Malloy’s re-election bid, according to an article on stamfordadvocate.com.

The complaint also alleges improper funding of dozens of legislative campaigns dating back to 2003, the article said.

The group said the NRA funneled about $11,000 to oppose Malloy last fall, the article said. The group also alleges $9,000 in federal PAC money was improperly funneled to 33 state House and Senate candidates of both political parties from 2003-05, the article said.
