Update: Buses Running On Metro-North's New Canaan Branch

4 p.m. update: NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Bus service was being provided for the Tuesday afternoon rush hour on the New Canaan Branch after a morning truck accident damaged the train system's catenary wire system, Metro-North announced on its website.

Original story: NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Train riders on the New Canaan branch should find a different way to get to work or to downtown Stamford on Tuesday morning, Metro-North said.

Limited buses and no trains were being provided along the New Canaan Branch until further notice, Metro-North Railroad said.

The problems were due to a truck accident that caused wire damage to the train's overhead catenary system, Metro-North said.

Customers were urged to seek alternate transportation to the Stamford station.
