3 Cops Sent To Hospital After New Canaan Home Fire

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — Three New Canaan police officers were transported to the hospital after a fire at a home at 747 Old Stamford Road, a news release said.

The first police officers on scene were told by a resident that his sister may still be inside, and they attempted to rescue her, the release said. They were driven back by heavy smoke, the release said.

Firefighters arrived and put out the blaze, which was located at an “in-law” apartment, the release said. The sister was not found in the home, the release said.

The officers were transported to Norwalk Hospital for observation purposes only.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, the release said.
