Alleged Drug Dealer In Fairfield County Steals $300 In Groceries From Stop & Shop, Police Say

An alleged dealer is facing drug charges after being busted with marijuana as police investigated a shoplifting case at Stop & Shop.

Members of the Milford Police Department received a report of a suspect stealing more than $300 worth of groceries from the store without paying on April 11, prompting an investigation.

According to police, the suspect, later identified as Bridgeport resident Daques Green, 30, ran to a vehicle but then headed in a different direction on foot on the day of the alleged shoplifting incident. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of Green’s wallet and 17.5 grams of marijuana and packaging materials.

Green was taken into police custody on an active warrant on Saturday, Nov. 17, and he was charged with larceny, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Green was released following his arraignment and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 11 to respond to the charges.
