Brian Keith Cook of Idaho Falls was sent home Tuesday after an appearance in a Stamford court. He's been held at the Bridgeport Correctional Center since his Sept. 13 arrest at Cherry Lawn Park in Darien, the Stamford Advocate reports.

The man told Darien officers he was on his way to Canada. The 2011 conviction stems from repeated rape of a 13-year-old girl, the Stamford Advocate says.
