Joseph Borea, 56, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to violate the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, the release said. He has been out on bail since his arrest June 13 and faces sentencing Oct. 30, the release said.
He faces up to 20 years in prison and has agreed to forfeit $75,000, the release said.
It is suspected that Borea collected gambling debts for the people running the ring, the release said.
Earlier this week, Richard “Big Baldy” Uva, 44, of Trumbull pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to violate the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act for his part in the gambling ring, the U.S. attorney’s office said. He faces sentencing Oct. 24 and has also agreed to give up $250,000.
