NEW CANAAN, Conn. Kate Regan, a New Canaan woman facing two charges related to the August 2010 death of an 82-year-old man, will return to Norwalk Superior Court in three weeks.
Regans case was continued Thursday until June 28, according to the Norwalk Superior Court clerks office. Her case remains on the trial list, although no date has been set.
Regan, of Michigan Road, is charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and evading responsibility resulting in physical injury or death. New Canaan police arrested Regan on Nov. 3, 2010, after an investigation into the Aug. 18 incident.
Police said Regan was driving a 2008 Infiniti QX56 when she struck Krishna S. Jayaraman, 82 while he was at the mailbox outside his home. Jayaraman died from his injuries at Norwalk Hospital.
The State Police Major Crime Unit and forensic technicians were also called in to work on the investigation.
Regan and her husband, Michael, are also facing a civil suit from Jayaramans family in Stamford Superior Court.
