Tarrytown Fire, Hazmat Team Clean Up Gasoline Leak

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A woman's car began leaking a serious amount of gasoline after she hit an object on the New York State Thruway, Tarrytown police said.

Police and firefighters responded to the Shell Gas Station on South Broadway after a 911 call reported a car was leaking gasoline.

Police and firefighters responded to the Shell Gas Station on South Broadway after a 911 call came in around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 13. The woman had pulled into the station after getting off the Thruway.

Tarrytown firefighters and the Westchester County Hazmat Team cleaned up the gasoline spill and notified state police of the object in the roadway. The car was fixed and turned over to its owner.

Police also reported the following items:

• An Archer Place resident reported his dog, a tan pug, had run off from his yard around 8 a.m. on Aug. 15. The dog came back home about an hour later.

• Two cab drivers got into an argument on the EF school campus around 1 p.m. on Aug. 14 after one driver took a fare that another driver felt was his.

• A man reported his bicycle had been stolen from an unlocked garage on White Plains Road on Aug. 13.
