Westport Country Playhouse Named Company Of The Year By WSJ

WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport Country Playhouse was named Company of the Year in a recent article in The Wall Street Journal.

The article in the WSJ said artistic director Mark Lamos “has turned a spotty suburban troupe into an artistic powerhouse.” Productions at Westport Country Playhouse included “The Dining Room,” “The Show-Off” and “Loot.”  The report praised Westport, saying “Few regional companies are striking so satisfying a balance between familiarity and adventurousness.” For the complete article, click here.

Lamos became the artistic director at Westport in 2009. He spent 17 years as the artistic director of Connecticut’s Hartford Stage.
