Fairfield University Officials Investigate 'Ghetto Party'

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Officials at Fairfield University are investigating a "ghetto-themed" party held over the weekend, according to the Connecticut Post.

The controversial party that raised ire and concern over social media occurred at a private beach house on Saturday, the Connecticut Post reported.

According to the Bridgeport News, party-goers were asked to dress as Latinos and African-Americans and carry around "forties." Some patrons were reportedly in brown face, the Bridgeport News reported.

Campus officials are interviewing students who were reportedly involved, according to the Connecticut Post.

In an official statement, Fairfield University officials said they are committed to a culture that celebrates and embraces diversity and will take appropriate actions as soon as the facts are determined.
