Lynn Carnegie, founder of local test prep company Carnegie Pollak, will be giving a free presentation at 10 a.m. Thursday at the New Canaan Library addressing how to navigate the world of standardized testing.

“There are so many questions parents don’t even know to ask about this process, especially with the changes to the SAT and ACT this year,” Carnegie said in a press release. “My presentations will give an overview of the testing process to start the dialogue and make it less intimidating for parents.”

Carnegie Pollak has been preparing Fairfield County students for standardized tests for more than 30 years, according to a press release. It has received the "Best of the Gold Coast" award for more than seven years, according to a press release.

At this event, one can learn how to help a student prepare for the PSAT, SAT, and/or ACT; what changes are coming in 2015-16; and how to avoid common pitfalls in the test prep process, according to a press release.

The presentation is geared toward parents of freshmen, sophomores and juniors, but students also are welcome to attend.
