NEW CANAAN, Conn. — New Canaan’s Youth Adult Partnership put on its annual “Spring Fling” for local senior citizens earlier this month.

The night included playing games, dancing and mingling, a statement said. The high school students also handed out flowers and served snacks to the Waveny Care Center residents.

"The Spring Fling is a fun event that the kids and senior residents look forward to every spring,” Grace Community Youth Pastor Jake Kircher said in the statement.

"There were lots of smiles for both our seniors and youth. This was a great way for our kids to focus on building assets around the towns prescribed focus areas of creating after school opportunities, promoting volunteerism and connecting kids with adults," Tony Phillips, coordinator of Youth & Family Services, said in the statement. "Where else could they dance, play games and do the limbo and call it community service? Everyone had a blast."

Bon Fleur donated the boutonnieres and flowers, and DJ Daggergettogether , a.k.a. Henry Greer, a junior New Canaan High School, provided the music at the May 2 event, the statement said.
