Woods will serve as a coach and adviser for the Chelsea Piers Lacrosse Club (CP LAX) girls program. She will also coach various Chelsea Piers developmental and advanced clinics offered throughout the year.
In addition to joining the CPCT staff, Woods and Chelsea Piers have formed an alliance between the Chelsea Piers Lacrosse Club (CP LAX) and CT LAX, Connecticut’s premier girls lacrosse club program for youth girls.
CT LAX, which Woods started in 2005, will continue to run its successful club program for players in grades 5 to 7 while CP LAX will run competitive teams for players in grades 8 to 11.
The CP LAX program is run by Caitlin Young, a former Wilton High School All-American, University of North Carolina standout and Fairfield University Graduate assistant coach.
This partnership creates the largest powerhouse for girls lacrosse in Fairfield County, providing excellence in coaching and development for female players throughout their lacrosse careers. CP LAX and CT LAX will work together to share resources, coaches and experience to create a competitive lacrosse program.
Woods has been affiliated with women’s lacrosse at every level, both as a player and coach, for the past decade, including a collegiate career at Penn State University, where she was a four-year letter winner and team captain during her senior year.
Woods has been a fixture in the Northeast lacrosse community. Her overall record during the past seven seasons at New Canaan is 119-30, and the team won state championships in 2010, 2012 and 2013.
