New Canaan won, 22-0, to improve to 3-2 for the season. Darien fell to 0-5.

The score was secondary, however, as the boys for both teams enjoyed a rare road game in New York. Steve Cavoli, whose son Brian plays on the Darien team, played on the 150-pound Army team in 1992. Ben Graham plays for New Canaan and his father, Mike.

Cavoli and Graham were Army officers and served in the infantry after graduating from West Point. They have remained close since, and Cavoli’s brother is an Army general on active duty in Europe.

In the game, Bates Grisgby scored on a 20-yard run followed by a two-point conversion by Chris Canet. In the third quarter, Canet scored on a 35-yard run and added a conversion. Dukes Plum added the final TD for New Canaan.
