Robustelli served as president of Robustelli Worldwide, a business that specializes in meetings, sporting events and sport-related travel programs for corporations in the Tri-State area, before accepting his new position.

“I am very excited about this opportunity, and look forward to working with the faculty, staff and coaches at Trinity,” he said. “Together, we will work to ensure students succeed both on and off the field.

“Our athletic programs will continue to meet the high standards to which we hold ourselves. Students will continue to compete while they learn the important values of teamwork, sportsmanship and perseverance.”

The prep school, which was founded in 1958, serves students throughout Fairfield County and Westchester County in New York.

“I am excited that Bob will further improve our excellent athletic program,” said Joseph Gerics, Trinity’s principal. “Bob has been an important member of the Trinity Catholic family for many years as a student, parent and coach. His knowledge of the school and dedication to our community will be an invaluable asset to us.”

A 1970 graduate of Trinity, Robustelli lettered in baseball, basketball and football.

After high school, he continued his athletic career, playing football at the University of Connecticut.

For more than three decades, he has coached baseball for the Springdale Little League.

He has also continued his relationship with Trinity’s athletic program.

Robustelli stepped in as an assistant coach for the baseball team in 2012.

He has also served as head coach for the freshman football team.

Over the course of the last three years, Robustelli has been instrumental in ENVISION Capital, a program to improve athletics at the school.

Robustelli led the fundraising efforts for the first phase of the campaign, the installation of a new turf field scheduled to be open by the beginning of September.

He and his wife, Patti, who reside in Stamford, have five children. Three of them have graduated from Trinity.
