Process Begins To Replace Redding Selectman Who's Moving To Bethel REDDING, Conn. -- Redding's Democratic Town Committee meets Thursday to nominate a replacement for Selectman Leon Karvelis, who is stepping down from the board Nov. 31 in anticipation of his move to Bethel, according to the the Redding Pilot. Town board members Julia Pemberton, a Democrat, and Michael Thompson, a Republican, will then vote on the nomination. Irvington Students Raise Money For Hurricane Victims IRVINGTON, N. Y. -- A group of fifth-graders from Main Street School in Irvington have raised more than $550 to help victims of Hurricane Matthew, and the fund-raising effort is still going strong. Students are collecting donations for Haiti victims of Hurricane Matthew through the end of November.
