Though the FAA has regulations against the commercial use of small drones, there is no federal law prohibiting the practice, the Daily News said.
Maloney currently sits on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Aviation Subcommittee, which oversees the FAA, the Daily News reported.
Maloney became just the second sitting member of Congress to enter into a same-sex marriage when he married his partner of 21 years, Randy Florke, who proposed to Maloney on Christmas, according to politico.com.
