NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The Silvermine Arts Center and Lyn Evans Potpourri Designs are collaborating on a one-day art and fashion shopping spree will be Thursday at Lyn Evans' store in New Canaan.
Donna Yellin, store manager at Lyn Evans Potpourri Designs, will be creating a dramatic backdrop of women’s clothing and accessories to complement an exhibit of art work by selected Silvermine Guild artists.
Art and fashion go hand in hand, and New Canaan businesses have a long tradition of partnering with not-for-profit organizations.
Silvermine, a non-profit arts center, now in its 94th year, provides as many as 20 exhibits a year and education in a wide spectrum of artistic disciplines to adults and children throughout Fairfield County.
Lyn Evans Potpourri Designs will donate 15 percent of the proceeds to the Silvermine Arts Center for the day on all sales at the store.
In addition, there will be a wine and cheese opening Wednesday to meet the artists and preview the art work, which will be on display for two weeks, until Thursday, April 14.
So come out and have a spree at Potpourri March 31. Your shopping will be guilt-free as you will have an opportunity to buy affordable artworks by local professional artists and support one of Connecticut’s oldest and finest art centers.
