What To Do In New Canaan This Weekend

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – A Halloween crafts workshop, New Canaan High School’s homecoming football game and the annual Halloween parade are some of the events planned for this weekend in around New Canaan. 

Friday

Preschool Halloween Craft Workshop: 1:30 p.m. Drop-in between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. to create a spooky Halloween craft in the Children's Program Room. The program is for children ages 3 to 5 with a caregiver. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

Saturday

New Canaan Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit with vendors selling farm fresh foods, soaps, crafts and other treats at the Center School Parking Lot on the corner of Maple and Main streets. The Farmers Market is open every Saturday rain or shine through Nov. 17. Center School Parking Lot.

New Canaan High School Football: 2 p.m.  The New Canaan High School Rams host the Wilton High School Warriors on Homecoming Weekend at Dunning Stadium. New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road.

Sunday

New Canaan Halloween Parade:  Noon. Thousands of children will take to Downtown New Canaan to celebrate Halloween and show off their costumes. There will be goodies for all kids and great music. The parade begins at 1 p.m. Downtown New Canaan.

New Canaan Library Manga Club: 1:30 to 3 p.m. The club will meet through December to read and discuss manga, watch anime, draw, do crafts, make food and learn about Japanese culture. Manga Club is open to kids in seventh through 12th grade. Email Gretchen, the teen services librarian, for more information or to join. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.
