What To Do In New Canaan This Weekend

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – A major book sale, high school football and a college essay workshop are some of the events planned for this weekend in around New Canaan. For more to do, visit our Events page. 

Friday

John Randolph Book Sale: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The New Canaan Library will host its annual John Randolph Book Sale, one of the biggest fundraisers of the year. The sale also takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Books are half price on Sunday. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

New Canaan High School Football: 7 p.m.  The New Canaan High School Rams will host the Stamford High School Black Knights at Dunning Stadium. New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road.

Saturday

National Novel Writing Month Write-In: 2 p.m. Are you participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)? If so, join the library for refreshments and a write-in with other Fairfield County writers and NaNoWriMo Municipal Liaison Charles Muir. Writers will meet in the Plaut Room. Sunday

College Essay Writing Workshop: 4 p.m. High school students applying to colleges will learn what will set them apart in their college essays and what admissions officers want to read. This workshop will also be helpful to parents of high school freshmen and sophomores, who are starting to research the college admissions process. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.
