NEW CANAAN, Conn. — New Canaan’s The Glass House will be kicking off a new art exhibition and welcoming a new sculpture to another exhibit Thursday.

New York artist E.V. Day will bring SNAP! to the Da Monsta building, and will include four recent sculptures from the artist as well as site-specific installations to the interior and exterior of the building, a release from The Glass House said.

Day is the first artist the organization has asked to reinterpret the building, and she will be casting red nets over the building looking to respond to Philip Johnson’s statement that “the building is alive,” the release said.

Tauba Auerbach’s “Gnomon/Wave” sculpture will be coming to the Glass House as part of its Night exhibit, the release said. The piece is designed to look like the vertical shadow casting part of a sundial and will cast a moving shadow along and through the glass table it will be on, the release said.

SNAP! will be in New Canaan until Nov. 30, and “Gnomon/Wave” on display until Sept. 1, the release said.

The Philip Johnson Glass House is located at 199 Elm St., and open Thursday through Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tickets start at $30 and include tours of the site.
