Ramiro Arcos-Garcia pleaded guilty in June to charges that he stabbed cab driver Jackson Pierre-Louis, 51, to death in December 2014 in Norwalk, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Pierre-Louis’ family attended the sentencing Wednesday and told the Stamford Advocate that Arcos-Garcia's prison sentenced could not make up for the loss of their loved one. According to the Stamford Advocate, the victim’s wife and mother of his three children was too distraught to comment.
Separately, Arcos-Garcia is accused of kidnapping a woman in 2011 in Virginia, according to the Stamford Advocate, which reported that he’s accused of tying her up and then running her over as she tried to escape.
Arcos-Garcia will be extradited to Virginia to face charges in connection with that case, according to the Stamford Advocate.
