George Smith IV, a Greenwich man vanished from a Royal Caribbean cruise in the Mediterranean on July 5, 2005, and his body was never found.
According to CBS News, which broadcast an episode of "48 Hours" titled "Murder At Sea?" on Saturday, the family is seeking answers that lead "to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible" for what happened to Smith, who is believed to have gone overboard.
On the show, his mother, Maureen Smith, said, "I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever that my son was murdered on that cruise ship."
The episode of "48 Hours," which was broadcast on the ninth anniversary of Smith's disappearance, also reported that a new team of FBI agents has been assigned to the case.
